Our Language Pathway (Kindergarten to Grade 12)
We ensure a gradual transition from the mother tongue to English, without losing cultural roots:
KG – Grade 5
Medium of Teaching: Marathi for all main subjects in the early years.
Daily Communication: A mix of Marathi (to encourage expression and comfort) and introductory English.
Curriculum Languages: Marathi for most subjects — Math, EVS, Ayurveda, Nakshatra Vidya, Itihas/Niti. English, Sanskrit and Hindi along with Marathi is taught separately as language subjects with clear expectations from Balvarg.
Grades 6 – 8
Medium of Teaching: Primarily English for core subjects; Marathi continues for cultural & heritage areas.
Daily Communication: English becomes the primary classroom language.
Curriculum Languages: English textbooks for Math, Science, Geography, Computer. Marathi retained for cultural studies. Sanskrit chants with English meanings.
Grades 9 – 12
Medium of Teaching: English for all academic subjects to prepare for higher education & national boards.
Daily Communication: English only, building full fluency & confidence.
Curriculum Languages: All core subjects in English. Marathi/Hindi/Sanskrit for language & heritage subjects (Ayurveda, Nakshatra Vidya, Itihas/Niti).
