FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you may have many questions. Here are answers to some of the most common queries from parents.

Does the fee go to the school Trustees / Founders / Owners?

👉 No. Parambi is a genuine not-for-profit school. Every rupee from fees is used for children’s learning and our Shiksha Setu outreach program that educates marginalized communities. There are no dividends or profits taken by any Trustees / Founders / Owners.

My child lives far from the school — will he/she be able to learn at Parambi?

👉 Yes 🌿 Absolutely! Parambi offers two learning pathways — Residential and Non-Residential (Day School).

  • Residential (Gurukul Living): For children who live far or prefer not to travel daily. They stay on campus in a nurturing, home-like environment and experience the full rhythm of Gurukul life — seva, yoga, community living, creative work, and mentorship.
  • Non-Residential (Day School): For families nearby — children return home daily while receiving the same joyful, experiential education.

We welcome learners from across Maharashtra. If you live far from the school, you can comfortably choose the Residential Pathway so your child learns without the strain of daily travel.

I want my child to be strong in academics. Can Parambi support NEET/JEE or other competitive exams?

👉 Yes ✅ Parambi builds a strong academic foundation with conceptual clarity through experiential learning — ideal for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and more.

After Grade 8, learners move into dedicated groups based on natural inclination and interest:

  • Civil Services & Leadership Pathway
  • Engineering & Technology Pathway
  • Artistic & Creative Pathway

In Grades 9–12, we run focused sessions, mentorship, and guided preparation for each pathway. This helps learners specialize, build mastery, and prepare confidently — while staying rooted in values and balance.

What if we cannot afford the fees?

👉 We offer need-based scholarships and flexible payment options. No child will be left out of Parambi due to financial reasons. Please reach out to discuss your situation — we will find a way to support your child’s education.

What kind of learning approach do you follow?

👉 We follow an inquiry-based, child-centered approach with self-directed and peer learning. Children ask questions, explore through experiments and projects, and learn collaboratively — not by rote memorization.

What is multi-age grouping and why do you use it?

👉 In many activities, we use multi-age groups. Younger children learn alongside older ones, gaining guidance and modeling, while older children reinforce their learning through mentoring. This builds confidence, leadership, patience, and a family-like bond.

What does a typical day at Parambi look like?

👉 The day begins with a morning circle, invocation, Yoga, Sanskrit Chanting and rhythmic exercises. Children then engage in academics through interactive lessons, followed by arts or hands-on learning. Afternoons include practical work — gardening, farming, craft, or music. Each day balances Head (Thinking), Heart (Feeling), and Hand (Doing).

What activities will my child be involved in?

👉 Children enjoy a rich variety of activities — organic gardening, cooking, clay work, art, storytelling, theatre, music, dance, sports, and nature walks — alongside academics. These are core curriculum elements, nurturing creativity, confidence, and cultural connection.

How do you assess children without traditional exams?

👉 Assessment is ongoing and holistic. Teachers observe learning in real-life situations, compile portfolios, and provide narrative feedback instead of marks. Parents receive detailed observations and examples of progress — ensuring assessment supports growth, not stress.

Will my child be prepared for board exams later on?

👉 Yes. Our curriculum aligns with NIOS and national standards. Students gain strong subject foundations, analytical skills, and confidence. Formal exam formats are introduced gradually, preparing them well for board exams in Grades 10 & 12.

How is Parambi different from traditional schools?

👉 Unlike rote-based systems, Parambi’s learning is experiential and joyful. Students learn by doing — farming, art, music, science experiments, service, and cultural traditions — alongside academics. Small class sizes foster questioning, creativity, and real understanding.

What life skills will my child develop here?

👉 Life skills include financial literacy, digital safety, Ayurveda basics, yoga, cooking, gardening, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and cultural empathy. We prepare children not just for exams — but for life.

How large are the classes?

👉 We keep classes small — maintaining low student–teacher ratios for personalized attention, deep engagement, and a close-knit community atmosphere.

How do parents stay involved in the school?

👉 Parents are partners in our journey. We host gatherings, sharing circles, and workshops. Parents may volunteer — telling stories, teaching crafts, or sharing professional expertise. Through newsletters and meetings, we stay connected.

What values guide the school?

👉 Parambi stands on Joy, Curiosity, Compassion, Cultural Rootedness, and Responsibility (to self, society, and nature). These values weave through our curriculum and daily life — nurturing joyful, curious, and kind learners.
